(hereinafter referred to as CTCE) is not only a large construction enterprise but also a benchmarking enterprise of China Railway Group Limited. It has obtained Special-Class qualifications for the general construction contracting of railway works; Class I qualifications for the general construction contracting of highways, municipal services, housing construction and mechanical & electrical installation works; Class I qualifications for such specialties as bridges, tunnels, highway subgrade, highway pavements, railway track laying, bridge erection and railway electricity & electrification works; Class I qualifications for the specialized contracting of communications works, building decoration works, fire control facility works, hydraulic tunnel works, steel structure works and so on; qualifications for the specialized contracting of highway traffic works and urban rail transit works; Class II qualifications for the EPC of water conservancy and hydropower; a Class A qualification for steel structure design; Class A qualifications for environmental protection works and prevention & control works of geological hazards; a Class A (II) qualification for the railway industry and a Class A qualification for design in the construction industry. In addition, CTCE also possesses qualifications for foreign project contracting and external management rights. Besides infrastructure construction, the Company's business scope embraces a variety of fields such as building survey & design, new material manufacturing, railway operation services, large construction machinery leasing, equipment and materials export, real estate development, national infrastructure construction & investment, traffic gardens and international tourism. In the past 60 years since it was founded, CTCE has participated in more than 100 newly-built, renovated and extended trunk railway lines, branch railway lines and special railway lines, completed more than 10 large railway hubs, made outstanding achievements and gained a distinguished reputation in such construction fields as expressways, municipal services, water conservancy & water affairs, automotive proving grounds, urban rail transit, industrial and civil buildings, electrification works and more. Among these projects, 19 projects won the Luban Award for Chinese Construction Projects (National Prime-Quality Projects); 23 projects won the Zhan Tianyou Awards for China Civil Engineering; 19 projects were rated as National Customer Satisfaction Construction Projects; 13 projects were rated as Demonstration Projects in the Nation-Wide Municipal Golden Cup; 30 projects were rated as National Excellent Welding Projects; 19 projects won the Gold Award for Chinese Steel Structure Construction, 21 projects won the Award for National Prime-quality Projects and over 200 projects won the Award for Provincial/Ministerial-Level Prime-Quality Projects. In addition, 10 CTCE achievements won the Award for National Scientific and Technological Progress and 214 achievements won the Award for Provincial/Ministerial-Level and Industrial Scientific and Technological Progress. Among the construction methods compiled by CTCE, 10 methods have been rated as National Grade Normalized Construction Methods and 209 methods have been rated as Provincial/Ministerial Grade Normalized Construction Methods. At present, CTCE possesses 454 state-authorized patents and 5 copyrights, including 108 patents for invention. CTCE is a national hi-tech enterprise that has established a national enterprise technology center and a postdoctoral workstation. So far, CTCE has 22,400 employees including over 13,500 professionals and 7,600 skilled workers. Among them, there are 1,260 professionals with medium or senior technical titles (including 10 experts enjoying special national allowances). CTCE owns more than 9,800 (sets) advanced mechanical equipment , with a total power of up to 1.09 GW, among which nearly 200 sets are used for the manufacturing, transportation and erection of heavy-duty bridges and the production & laying of railway tracks along railway PDLs, as well as the construction of urban subway running sections and expressway pavement.
